Cat Boarding Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know before booking your cat's stay.

Booking & Payment

How do I book?

Book online any time via our Book Now button, or call/text 0450 044 102. A 50% deposit secures your cat's room; the balance is due before check-in (peak-season bookings are paid in full 10 days before check-in).

What are your rates?

Suites start from $38 per night for our Deluxe Villa, up to $89 per night for the Presidential Suite. Extra cats from the same household are just +$5/night, and longer stays earn a discount (10% off 7+ nights; 15% off 21+ nights in VIP and Presidential). See our Pricing page for the full table.

Is there a peak-season surcharge?

Yes, nights within peak periods (school holidays, long weekends, public holidays, Christmas/New Year, Easter) carry a surcharge.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 48 hours of check-in (10 days for peak periods) incur 50% of the booking; within 24 hours or no-show, 100%. Early pick-up isn't refunded for unused nights. Full details in our Terms & Conditions.

Can I pay by card?

Yes, Visa/Mastercard carry a 2% processing surcharge. Bank transfer has no surcharge.

Requirements

What vaccinations does my cat need?

An F3 vaccination given within the last 12 months, with proof at check-in. If your cat is due for a booster, just make sure it's done before check-in.

Does my cat need to be desexed?

No, desexing is welcome but not required.

Is there a minimum age?

Yes, guests must be at least 4 months old.

What should I pack?

Just any medications your cat needs. You're welcome to bring their favourite blanket or toy; we provide everything else, including premium food (Royal Canin, Black Hawk, Ivory Coat and more) — or bring their own food if they're fussy.

Anything else required before check-in?

Your cat should be in good health with no signs of illness. We recommend flea and worm treatment 10–14 days before arrival — if fleas or worms are found at check-in, treatment is provided at your cost. Please bring your cat in a secure carrier for drop-off and pick-up, and if they're a recent shelter or foster adoption, we ask for a 3-week settling-in period before their first stay with us.

Daily Care

What is included in the stay?

Premium dry and wet food twice a day (unless you'd like something different), high-quality tofu litter mixed with Fitlitter (it flags urinary and kidney issues early), and lots of human interaction and time to roam outside their suite. At check-in we'll ask about your cat's food preferences and do our best to match their regular diet — and if you'd rather bring your own, that's absolutely fine; we'll store it in a fridge or freezer as needed.

Will my cat share a room with other cats?

Never. Every household gets its own private, fully-enclosed suite.

Will my cat go outside?

Neko Cat Hotel is a fully enclosed, purpose-built facility, so your cat stays safely on-site for the whole stay (aside from a vet visit, if ever needed). Our roller door opens during the day for fresh air, natural light and a bit of the outside world to watch.

How much attention will my cat get?

Every household gets at least 30 minutes of one-on-one playtime and cuddles daily, plus daily photo and video updates to your phone.

Will I get updates during my cat's stay?

Yes — we send daily photo and video updates of what your cat's been up to, plus you can add our 24/7 live camera to check in any time. By booking with us you agree we may use photos or video of your cat for our social media and promotions; just let us know in writing if you'd rather we didn't.

Can I watch my cat while I'm away?

Yes, add our 24/7 live camera to any booking for a flat $20 per stay and check in any time, with two-way audio.

Can you give my cat medication?

Yes, free of charge — just bring it in its original, clearly labelled container with your vet's dosage instructions in writing (we can't accept expired medication), and let us know about any existing medical conditions at booking. If your cat needs a complex medication schedule or tends to get distressed in unfamiliar places, we'd recommend boarding with your vet instead, since Neko Cat Hotel is unattended overnight.

Do you accept cats with diabetes that need insulin?

Unfortunately not — Neko Cat Hotel is unattended overnight, so we're not able to safely manage insulin or similar conditions. We'd recommend a cattery attached to a veterinary clinic for cats with ongoing medical needs like this.

What if my cat gets sick?

We monitor every guest daily and will contact you immediately if anything seems off. If we can't reach you or it's urgent, we'll get your cat to a vet or the nearest emergency clinic — vet and transport costs are the owner's responsibility, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.

Does the facility provide heating and cooling?

Yes, commercial-grade heating, air conditioning and air purification run throughout the facility, and we regularly monitor temperature and humidity to keep every suite comfortable.
